My Background

Christopher Hall
IT Leader
Christopher Hall, the mind behind this site, brings a deep academic and practical understanding of leadership to the table. With a bachelor’s and master’s degree in leadership and four years into a doctorate, I’ve dedicated my career to exploring the principles of effective leadership. Over 20 years in IT leadership roles have given me a front-row seat to the realities of this field—where good leadership is rare, and poor practices are all too common. My experiences and studies have fueled a passion for raising the standard of leadership in IT, sparking the creation of this platform as a resource for change.
Why This Website Exists
IT Leadership Hub was born out of a frustration with the status quo in IT leadership—a field where rapid technological advancement often outpaces the growth of effective management practices. After two decades of experience in IT, I’ve encountered countless examples of poor leadership: decisions driven by ego rather than insight, a lack of empathy for team dynamics, and the absence of a clear, strategic vision. At the same time, I’ve witnessed glimpses of excellent leadership that prove it doesn’t have to be this way. This site exists to call out those gaps, not just to criticize, but to highlight what could—and should—be done differently. By examining both the flaws and best practices in IT leadership, I hope to inspire a shift toward more thoughtful, impactful, and authentic leadership across the industry.
